About Calgary
Calgary sits in southern Alberta near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and grew up around ranching and the energy industry. Each July it hosts the Calgary Stampede, one of the world's best-known rodeos and exhibitions. From November 2026, Alberta stops changing its clocks and stays year-round on Alberta Time (UTC−6), the former Mountain daylight offset, which keeps it on the same time as Saskatchewan all year.
